Hi y’all. Sorry I’ve been out of the loop for so long.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to run since the last marathon (4 weeks ago). A hip problem on the front left. Gone to the physio, and doctor. Looks like joint problem, some form of osteo-arthritis. X-Ray came clean, waiting for the MRI results.
Very unexpected, because I had a great C2S marathon, finished strong (maybe too strong?). Well, sh*t happens.
I had to cancel all my running (including the Melbourne Marathon – Oct 9)
So I’ve been taking ibuprofen on a regular basis, which seems to calm the background pain I’ve gotten used to.
Good news, I can spin, ride, swim. Apparently, impact stuff like running or even walking fast is bad. And it doesn’t get any better after I warm up. Hopefully things will get better for the start of the triathlon season, which is my main concern. Going to the gym, and keeping in shape, trying to not add too much weight.
Well, happy recovery, and I’ll keep you posted when I have more news about the MRI.
